As parents, we all know that finding time to spend with our kids amid all of the things we have on our daily plate is often quite daunting. With work, housekeeping, meals, laundry, errands, homework, bills, and on and on we go . . .
Where is the time to really turn our attention towards our children?
How do we keep our connection strong and provide our children with a sense of being loved, secure and happy?
Amazingly, we manage to do fairly well in spite of the juggling act, but sometimes even with our best efforts we find ourselves unable to really attend to the emotional signals our kids give us that say “I want more of your time.” The Time is a one-hour parenting strategy that helps to solve this problem. I developed this technique out of my own need to give my son a particular kind of attention I felt he needed when I was a young, struggling single parent burning the candle at both ends to make things work. To my delight, the idea worked far beyond my expectations!
